From a seedy drug den to luxury living: Stunning before and after photos reveal The Block renovations as contestants …

Contestants on The Block have transformed Melbourne‘s notorious Gatwick Hotel in St Kilda into five luxury boutique apartments, which are set to go under the hammer in coming months.

Once a hotbed for drugs and crime, Melbourne’s ‘house of horrors’ has now been completely renovated into livable three-bedroom, two-bathroom properties, which were listed this week ahead of auction.

Prices are expected to fetch anywhere from $2.2million and $2.7million, more than double St Kilda’s median house price of $1.02million,¬†Domain reported on Tuesday.

Channel Nine purchased the run-down property, which was previously owned by sisters Yvette Kelly and Rose Banks, for $10million last year.

Perth couple Courtney Brown, 33, and Hans Baumgartner, 37, have the cheapest property, with the flight attendant and pilot listing their three-bedroom apartment between $2.2million and $2.4million.

It features Terrazzo flooring, one parking space and ‘neutral tones, plush carpets and concrete-style built-in robes,’ according to Domain.

Former professional netballers Bianca Chatfield and Carla Dziwoki, both 35, from Melbourne, listed their penthouse level apartment between $2.5million and $2.7million.

Their stunning bathroom renovation earned them second place in Sunday’s drama-filled episode, and it features a ‘silver galaxy dolomite stone feature wall.’

Husband-and-wife team Kerrie Charter, 48, and Spence Thomson, 46, are also hoping to sell for anywhere between $2.5million and $2.7million.

With these luxury features, it’s hardly surprising they won the judges’ approval on Sunday’s episode.

Meanwhile, controversial couple Sara, 31, and Hayden Vale, 45, have also listed their 250 square metre apartment for between $2.5million and $2.7million.

On Sunday’s episode, Sara sensationally quit the show after the judges criticised their bathroom renovation as ‘ugly and dated’ due to its bold black and grey colour palette and impractical layout.

However, a second bathroom offers a much brighter look with a white and grey theme, and the sub-penthouse boasts spacious bedrooms, a walk-in closet and modern fixtures.

Engaged Queensland couple Jess Eva, 33, and Norm Hogan, 40, have the most expensive apartment on The Block, which is listed between $2.55million and $2.75million.

The apartment boasts a ‘deluxe velvet bedhead, the softness of translucent drapes, wall lighting and a study zone,’ Domain reported.
