August 08, 2018 // // DreamMaker Bath & Kitchen of Walnut Creek, California, has won a coveted Chrysalis Award, which recognizes the nation’s best remodeling and design work and is open to all remodeling and design professionals in the United States.

The franchise, owned by Fred G. Chapman and Melody Chapman, was among 99 projects honored as winners of the Chrysalis Awards for Remodeling Excellence. The winning projects were determined based on overall design, creative use of space and materials, and the degree to which the project enhanced the original structure.

“The homeowner felt a huge and life-shattering void after a recent personal loss and needed a special place to retreat,” Chapman explains. “And she now loves to relax in her new luxury bathtub with a sliding shelf for wine glass and candle.”

The DreamMaker team removed existing walls separating two small bathrooms and merged into one big closet. An unused bedroom was transformed into a new master bathroom.

“Vinyl flooring adds warmth and the blue walls add a sense of serenity,” he explains. “Storage space was expanded with large cabinets on both ends of the countertop. “The low entry threshold shower with a fold up seat is a great option. Shutters close for privacy or open to give light and fresh air.”

The Chrysalis Awards is an independent design award program with a longstanding cooperation partnership with Qualified Remodeler.

“To win an award in this highly competitive category is quite an achievement,” says Ken Kanline, Director of the Awards, which was started in 1994 and recognizes the nation’s best work in fifteen general categories of residential and commercial remodeling.
