ADC Builders Kitchen & Bath Design has expanded its cabinet, counter top and flooring showroom at 212 DP Road.
The business has been located at 212 DP Road for more than four years. In addition to his showroom and fabrication shop expansion, Caspersen also is collaborating with his longtime friend James Auchampaugh who owns Casa Hermosa Builders LLC.
Auchampaugh and Caspersen became friends at Los Alamos High School and both graduated in 1983. Caspersen started working in the construction business with his father Roland Caspersen before starting his own business in 1997. He specializes in remodeling kitchens and bathrooms. Caspersen also is a certified solid surface fabricator with his own onsite fabrication shop. Counter tops, shower surrounds and other fabrication work is one of his specialties. ADC Builders is a dealer for Hi Macs, Avonite, Staron and Corian solid surfaces.
Auchampaugh went on to work as an award winning custom builder for more than 25 years in Santa Fe and Los Alamos. Auchampaugh also has served on many community boards including the board of directors for the Santa Fe Home Builders Association. He explained why he made the move to work with Caspersen.
“I felt I needed a little bit of a change … and Alec needed someone he knows who does great work to help with some of his projects, so it has worked out well for us both,” Auchampaugh said. “We have close to 70 years of combined experience and a good feel for how things should be. This experience includes all aspects of construction from design, building, and all the way to project completion. We also both really like working with people … it’s fun.”
Another thing the friends have in common is that their wives both work at Los Alamos National Laboratory, which they said allows them to have a good feel for the community.
Auchampaugh and Caspersen specialize in kitchen and bathroom cabinets. ADC carries cabinetry in a variety of price ranges and styles. Their top selling cabinetry is DeWils cabinets, which are solid wood with high-end hardware and extremely customizable. They also offer many other cabinetry lines. Â Caspersen said.
“We have a huge selection along with a variety of counter tops and flooring in stock,” he said. “We can do complete remodels or just sell the cabinets to those clients or other builders who want to handle the remodel on their own.”
In their showroom, Caspersen and Auchampaugh use 20/20 design software to design, render and price kitchen cabinet layouts. The design software allows them to show clients how cabinets and countertops will look when installed. Their showroom on DP Road provides a pleasant space for clients to look at samples and talk over design ideas with Caspersen, Auchampaugh and staff.
